This 3-hour Scottish folk music and barbecue cruise of the river Forth is the ultimate Edinburgh night out. Combining professional folk musicians with sightseeing and great food, this cruise takes participants on an unforgettable tour of some of Edinburgh’s most notable landmarks. A must-do for music fans!
You’ll begin your Scottish folk cruise by departing from either Hawes Pier South Queensferry, or Alloa Quayside. Climb aboard to meet your friendly captain and crew who will take care of you on your trip, grab a drink, and get settled for 3 hours of great folk music and food. As the boat leaves the shore, the resident onboard Scottish folk band Pure Malt will kick things off with some incredible live folk tunes. Celebrating their 11th year entertaining discerning cruise attendees, Pure Malt have amassed quite a fan base with their unique mix of traditional and contemporary Scottish and Irish folk music, with classics such as 'Whiskey in the Jar', 'Caledonia' and 'Green Grow the Rushes' guaranteed to get the crowd singing! Between songs, enjoy commentary on the surrounding sights and landmarks. The cruise takes a scenic route through the river Forth, taking in a variety of local sights and landmarks. Exact routes vary, but you can expect to see sights such as Oxcars Lighthouse and Inchcombe Island during your cruise. Enjoy a delicious barbecue supper on board, feasting on a BBQ ribeye steak baguette with onion gravy, or vegetarian burger while you are serenaded!
