Looking for a unique Oktoberfest collector’s item for yourself or for another Wiesn superfan? The city of Munich has just released its 2020 Wiesnkrugs (Oktoberfest mugs), with a special surprise release for a good cause.

In Munich, special Wiesnkrugs have been released every year with unique artwork since 1978… and while there will be no Oktoberfest happening in the city this year, the tradition continues with a pink-turquoise design from Kaufbeueren artist Ulrich Peter.

In addition, for the first time this year, the organizers will also be selling a limited edition “Koa Wiesn” Wiesnkrug (which means ‘No Oktoberfest’ in Bavarian) for the hefty pricetag of 50 euros, with proceeds going to help the traders and showmen impacted by the festival’s cancellation.

The idea came from Munich city councilman Roland Hefter, who wanted to find a way to help those impacted most by the absence of Oktoberfest this year in Munich.

Only 1000 of these special Wiesnkrugs will be sold, so be sure to act on it ASAP if you want to purchase your own here.

*According to responses from the Oktoberfest team on social media, it appears international shipping is possible. To purchase these Wiesnkrugs and other special Oktoberfest merch, visit the official Oktoberfest shop here.
